The decentralized generation of wind power and its fluctuation entail that complex solutions are required in order to ensure successful grid integration. The diploma course 'Integration of Wind Power in the Electricity Supply System' provides participants with an opportunity to study this increasingly important issue. The diploma course focuses on the technical, administrative and legal challenges that must be considered in order to ensure a successful integration of wind power and other renewable and conventional sources of energy.

Qualification

We recommend the diploma course 'Integration of Wind Power in the Electricity Supply System’ to engineers who want to work for local or regional utilities, grid operators or consultant companies that deal with the planning and integration of wind farms and who want to specialize in the integration of wind energy. On the basis of wind power forecasting, students will learn how to optimize the scheduling of the conventional and renewable energies power stations mix. Another learning outcome will be the planning of future electricity grids of power supply systems with a large amount of renewables.
